{COTD} PLAYFUL PREPPY

I was feeling a bit preppy yesterday but wanted to play with color, so play I did. I dressed up my plain gray tank with my leopard print detachable collar (see, many ways, haha) and experimented with pairing it with my red Ikat print skirt from Topshop.

Tank Top: Zara
Skirt: Topshop
Detachable collar: Miss Sartorial
Shoes: Janilyn
Envelope Clutch: Love Eycandy
Socks: Aldo
Accessories: Aldo
I went full-on playful by adding socks to my favorite pair of nude pumps and an extra color pop care of the oversize envelope clutch.

Gets me in the mood to prepare for the next big celebration...New Year!

Where are you ringing in the new year?

{COTD} BOHO GEEK

It was Christmas day and I was feeling playful. So for a day full of games, fun. food and family, I decided to take it easy and casual and took my boho vibe out for a spin.

Top: Topshop
Shorts: Details
Loafers: Tods
Bag: Forever 21
Scarf: Nava
I love how "no-fuss" this black and white outfit is but still fun with the right kind of accessories.

Scarf: Nava
Duffel Bag: Forever 21
Studded cuff: Gifted
Tri-color leather cuffs: Gifted
Watch: Aldo
So, I got the "boho" covered and you might be wondering what part of my outfit represents "geek". I stumbled upon this pair of animal print sunnies from Apostrophe and fell in love with it. The print had me at hello but its dual purpose got me hooked.

Sunnies/Glasses: Apostrophe
Earrings: Gifted
And of course, I was also referring to that geek posing for the photos, haha.

Speaking of dual purpose, I've always been in love with scarves and its many purposes. Hang it over your neck, tie it on your bag or in this case, use it as a turban when I forgot to pack some hair ties under the prickly heat.

Here's to more playful outfits and awesome finds in 2012! Cheers! Hope you're all having an awesome holiday break!

{COTD} CHRISTMAS EVE

Christmas is and always will be my favorite holiday. I have always looked forward to Christmas Eve when we'd attend midnight mass and binge on food after. :) This year, I wanted to go with a festive yet luxe ensemble to reflect my holiday mood.

Maxi Skirt: Topshop

Happy Holidays, everyone!

{COTD} RED CARPET GLAMOUR

Themed parties are so much fun especially when it calls for dressing to the nines. Hey, any reason to get all dolled up gets my vote. :) For this year's company Christmas party, the theme was Hollywood Glam -- Red Carpet, Old Hollywood, Channel your favorite Hollywood celebrity or just plain glam. :) For the night's theme, I went the Cameron Diaz route and donned plum and turquoise, which is always a winning combination.

Multi-way Gown: Nico for Veluz
Faux Fur bolero: Zara
Shoes (not shown): Janilyn
Clutch (not shown): Mango
Accessories: Aldo
As for the Cameron part, I channeled her look at the 2007 Costume Institute Ball/Met Gala wherein she wore a plum ball gown by Christian Dior and added an unexpected color -- turquoise earrings and neck piece.

Of course, I had to put my own spin to it, so I changed the neckline (which is always fun with this dress because you can change it in so many ways) and added the faux fur coat.

It was also the first time I did my own make-up, hopefully it worked. Because of the gown's strong color and the contrast from the earrings, I toned down my make up and used neutral colors.

Now, all I have to do is work on my abs and arms and grow longer legs for a full on Cameron cop. Hahaha. I wish.

It's officially Christmas as I am typing this, so Merry Christmas to each and everyone one of you my dear readers! Hope you have a blessed and fruitful one this year. <3

{COTD} LEATHER AND SUEDE

I've been online shopping (yet again) and saw this pair of leather and suede panelled leggings that are just too good to pass up. So I bought it and couldn't be happier. I decided to take it on a spin during a Christmas cum Birthday celebration for me. :)

I paired the leggings with a soft top to balance it's edginess and threw in a denim vest to add a quirky item that pulls the outfit together.

Top: Freeway
Leather and Suede panelled leggings: What a Girl Wants (WAGW)
Denim Vest: Zara
Shoes: Charles & Keith
Belt: Mango
Accessories: Aldo
I love how the leather panels go well with the suede leggings. Makes me feel edgy yet warm and fuzzy at the same time, haha.

I love how fluid the top it falls on the back (see via the mirror's reflection). I wanted full bottom coverage and that's what I got. Haha! The shoes are like icing on an edgy cake. :)

Four more days to go until Christmas!

{BLOG LOVE} THE COVETEUR

Ever wonder where creative minds get their inspirations from? I always believe it's from what you surround yourself with and this website proves exactly just that.

The Coveteur gives the reader a peek at the work stations/offices of today's popular industry players -- from stylists, editors, actors, designers, etc. It's amazing how each work place reflects the owner's personality down to a T. I also love how they lay each picture out, nitpicking interesting pieces and highlighting them well. Each photo is well thought out but still remains true to the subject's character.

Here are some of my favorite photos from personalities I admire:

1. Rachel Zoe - Stylist, CEO of Rachel Zoe Inc.

Her much coveted office space

Tear sheets for placing in her mood board
Display of her 2012 collection

2. Taylor Tomasi Hill - Style and Accessories Director, Marie Claire

3. Carly Cushnie - Co-founder, Designer of Cushnie et Ochs

4. Garance Dore - Photographer, writer and illustrator

5. Danielle Snyder - Co-founder, Creative Director for DANNIJO

6. Katie Ciepluch - Fashion Director for Shopbop.com

7. Susan Cernek - Executive Online Editor, Fashion and Beauty, Glamour

8. Monica Rose - Celebrity Stylist

Inspiring, isn't it? Would love to have my own personal office someday and design it with as much pizzaz as these guys have. Visit The Coveteur for more amazing photographs.
